Dr. Ernest Teye is a Professor of Postharvest Technology and Agri-Food engineering in the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He holds M.Sc Research methodology, M.Phil. Postharvest Technology and Ph.D. in Food Engineering from Pretoria University, South Africa, University of Cape Coast, Ghana and Jiangsu University, China respectively. He has led several global and local projects such as United States Department of Agriculture-Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA/FAS) on Soya bean, rapid screening for safe food, authenticity and quality of food and UK-RI palm oil integrity. Professor Teye adept at designing and implementing robust frameworks that drive strategic decision-making and improve food system program outcomes from farm to fork using novel techniques. He also has a strong technical background in quantitative and qualitative research methods, data visualization, and statistical analysis. He has authored numerous publications in reputable journals in Agri-food integrity and safety. Professor Teye has extensively use NIR spectroscopic techniques for the evaluation of food quality and safety. He is interested in the determination of Agri-food integrity from farm to folk using Artificial Intelligence technologies. This interest has made him a global impactful researcher, especially after the onset of COVID-19 pandemic where many food systems were weakened. With his background in Agri-food Science and Engineering, he has developed to become a global expert in agri-food value chain, and food integrity. Currently, Professor Ernest Teye leads the AfriFoodinTegrity research group (with the sole aim of making Africa food safe and authentic) at the University of Cape Coast and he is also the Director of Seed and Seedlings at the Asian African Consortium under the Jospong Group of Companies in collaboration with the University of Cape Coast.
