Eiman Kanjo
Professor Eiman Kanjo holds the position of Provost's Visiting Professor in tinyML at Imperial College London's Computing Department. She is also a Professor of Pervasive Sensing, and leads the Smart Sensing Lab, at Nottingham Trent University. Her team, comprising a diverse and multidisciplinary group, collaboratively develops cutting-edge pervasive and wireless sensing technologies, encompassing novel system architectures, data analytics, wearable devices, and edge devices.
Her research encompasses multiple captivating domains, including technology's role in transforming individuals' well-being. Additionally, she collaborates closely with policing services and Defence and Security groups to harness technology for enhanced safety. Eiman is deeply involved in tech-based green social prescribing, bridging technology and environmental well-being promotion. In 2022, Eiman earned recognition as one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering by The Women's Engineering Society. She also serves as the Award Lead for the Alan Turing Institute University Network.
Eiman actively collaborates with the tinyML Foundation, currently holding positions on the steering committees for tinyML EMEA and tinyML Research Symposium. She co-leads TinyML UK in partnership with ARM and serves as an editor at the Data Centric Engineering Journal. Eiman has assumed a role on the leadership team of Health Data Research UK Midlands (HDRUK) as an Associate Director. Previously, Prof. Kanjo worked as a Research Fellow at the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge, and as a research associate at the Mixed Reality Lab (MRL) within the Computer Science Department at the University of Nottingham. Her journey underscores her dedication to advancing technology for societal and environmental well-being.
