Ivona Z. Mitrovic is a Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science and Head of BioMEMS, Organic and Silicon Electronics research group at the University of Liverpool.

She received the B.Eng. degree in microelectronics from the University of Niš, Serbia, in 1997, the M.Sc. degree in materials science from the University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia, in 2002, and her Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the University of Liverpool, Liverpool, U.K., in 2007. Her research has focused on novel high-k materials that facilitated an unprecedented level of scaling of silicon chips, with applications to energy harvesting and power electronics that contribute to Net Zero agenda.

She is a steering group member of UKRI eFutures network, a strategic advisory board member of EPSRC Compound Semiconductor Hub, a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of the European SINANO Network of Excellence in nanoelectronics. Professor Mitrovic has authored over 170 scientific papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings and has delivered over 20 talks at premier international conferences in Europe and the USA. She advocates for a sustainable, more electric future and has recently chaired, on this topic, the forum “Sustainable Materials and Nanodevices” in 2021 and the conference “Electronics for Sustainable Societies” in 2022 under UKRI eFutures2.0 network attracting critical mass of national and international research leaders in this field.
