Sean Redmond
With 40 years of experience in the semiconductor and software industries, Sean started his career designing digital stereo ICs for television and then the first embedded processor used in mobile phones with VLSI technology. Sean was VP Europe for Verisity Design Inc, taking them from a standing start to over 160 customer sites throughout Europe in 5 years. He instigated and led the strategic partnership with Arm, directly leading to Verisity’s successful IPO. Following Verisity’s acquisition by Cadence, Sean became VP & GM of Cadence EMEA, leading a team of over 160 people and doubling its business in 3 years. On joining ARC as VP WW Sales and Marketing he helped turn it cash flow positive, leading to the eventual sale to Synopsys.
As founder and CEO of Vertizan Limited, the developer of the Vitaq AI-driven Test Automation tool suite. Vertizan won startup and innovation up of the year awards and amassed a global customer base including Renesas, Ericsson, Xilinx, NXP and Cisco. Sean has recently worked closely with the UK government on industrial digitalisation strategy, co-chairing the ElecTech council and for three years was a core member of the BEIS industrial digitalisation leadership team. He is Chair of Cascoda, a UK fabless semiconductor SME, that has developed IoT connectivity solutions for smart buildings.
Sean is Managing Partner for Silicon Catalyst.UK, leading its contribution on the UK government’s semiconductor infrastructure initiative project and ChipStart UK semiconductor startup incubator. In 2023, Sean was awarded the Techworks contribution to industry award for this work to connect, support and reinvigorate the UK semiconductor startup community.
Sean has a BSc(hons), MSc EE from Kings College, London and MBA from Henley Management College.
